State Chamber of Pharmacists – Register for membership
As a pharmacist in Baden-Württemberg, you must be a member of the Baden-Württemberg State Chamber of Pharmacists.
One of the Chamber’s main tasks is, amongst other things,
- representing the professional interests of its members,
- promoting their further education and training, and
- monitoring compliance with professional duties.

Details
Prerequisite
You must
- be appointed or licensed as a pharmacist, or
- hold a licence to practise as a pharmacist and
- practise your profession in Baden-Württemberg, or
- if you are not practising, be resident in Baden-Württemberg.
If you hold authorisation to practise the profession in accordance with Section 11 of the Federal Pharmacists’ Regulations, you are a member of the Chamber for the duration of your professional authorisation in Baden-Württemberg.
Procedure
You can register on the website of the State Chamber of Pharmacists. You must then send the required documents to the State Chamber of Pharmacists by post.
Alternatively, you can also register in writing. You can request the registration form from the State Chamber of Pharmacists.
Deadlines
- Application: within one month of the conditions being met
- Submission of the required documents following registration: within two weeks
Required documents
You must enclose the following documents with your application or submit them at a later date if you are applying online:
- Licence to practise or professional authorisation
- if the licence to practise medicine or professional licence is issued in your maiden name or a previous name: marriage certificate or certificate of change of name
- Doctorate certificate
- Evidence of further training
You must submit a certified copy of your medical licence or professional authorisation certificate, which must not be more than three months old; all other documents may be submitted as simple copies.
Costs
- Registration fee: none
- For membership: annual basic membership fee, varying in amount
The basis for calculating the fee may be either professional income or the scope of professional activity. Further information is available from the Chamber.
In addition to the basic fee, the following persons must pay an additional levy:
- Holders of business licences,
- tenants, and
- managers
of public pharmacies and their associated branches. This is based on the turnover achieved in the previous calendar year, excluding VAT.
Processing time
Around 14 days, provided all the documents are in order.
Miscellaneous
If you relocate your professional activities abroad, you may remain a voluntary member. This also applies if you simply move your place of residence abroad without being in employment. If you are undertaking practical training in Baden-Württemberg in accordance with the Licensing Regulations for Pharmacists (pharmacists on practical training), you may become a voluntary member during your training.
